CEN 4930 Edge/Cloud Computing

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and applications of edge and cloud computing. Topics include cloud computing platforms, network architectures, edge caching, and applications in 5G, 6G, the Internet of Vehicles, and UAVs. The course covers the interaction between edge computing and emerging technologies such as blockchain, AI, and federated learning, with a focus on real-world applications like industrial IoT and disaster management. Practical experience with cloud platforms and edge computing frameworks will be provided to equip students with the skills to design and manage distributed systems effectively. The learning experience integrated lectures, hands-on labs, collaborative group projects, and comprehensive examinations.
